Please review the descriptions below and submit your request to the Scholarship Coordinator in the SBCC Financial Aid Office no later than September 30 of the award year. Funds may be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Scholarship from American Riviera Bank
Eligibility for the American Riviera Bank scholarship requires finishing in the top three places (either as an individual or as a team) in the high school tier of the New Venture Challenge, and subsequently enrolling at SBCC as a full-time student (12 or more units). Award amounts: First place: $2,500; second place: $1,500; third place: $1,000. Recipients at each level will share equally in the funds allocated to the level in which they finish; however, individual awards at any level may not exceed $1,250.
Scholarship from the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Foundation
Eligibility to receive the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Foundation scholarship requires finishing in one of the top three places (either as an individual or as a team) in either the collegiate or high school tier of the New Venture Challenge. A total of $1,500 (minus fees) is available, and individual award amounts will vary based on the number of eligible participants. Scholarship recipients must attend Santa Barbara City College or a four-year college or university during the subsequent academic year. Recipients must remain in good academic standing.
